It all began with a young girl’s dream. A dream made of delicate fabrics in shimmering colors, sequins, and gold thread. The young girl left her native Algeria at the age of 16 with the feeling that something else awaited her. Coming from a conservative family, she was surrounded by fairy tales. Her greatest fairy was her mother, who created beautiful, fine, and delicate embroidery.
Upon arriving in France, she knew a great opportunity would present itself to her. Destiny prepared her for a great adventure, that of fashion and haute couture. She embarked on business studies that led her toward fashion marketing.
In 1995, after several experiences in the field, the clothing brand she worked for offered her the opportunity to manage one of their boutiques in Montreal, allowing her to expand internationally. Due to her strong Western and North African influences, she was passionate about fashion and haute couture. In 2009, she decided to embark on a new adventure and opened her first showroom in Montreal. This was the year she decided to make her dream come true and named it “Soucamelias.”
Soucamelias’ creations are contemporary, light, and casual, unlike traditional outfits. They are aimed primarily at the “chic” and “timeless” woman. Today, Soucamelias’s dream is growing, as is its brand image. Thanks to its passion, dedication, and hard teamwork, Soucamelias sells its collections across Canada, the United States, France, and North Africa.
“Soucamelias” was a most rewarding achievement for its creator because it allowed her to fully realize her childhood dream.
