Cassandre Gbegbe is an Ivorian – Canadian designer based in Gatineau, Quebec. She
started her journey as a fashion designer in Ottawa in 2024 with a drive for honoring
the beauty of diversity and the aim to showcase African fashion luxury globally.
Born in 1993, with a flair for fashion, crochet and the arts, Cassandre advanced her
tailoring skills and educated herself about sewing. She later joins the Richard Robinson
Fashion Design Academy to enhance her skills. Cassandre is fuelled by her passion for
creativity and is determined to build a brand that is rich and bold in colours, style and
most importantly internationally accessible.
Her fashion brand, Exodia Creations oQers a custom made to wear haute couture for
women. Our goal is for our clients to feel like royalties wearing a piece of Art.
Her first collection is dedicated to her late mother who inspired her and showed her the
love of fashion and privilege to wear customs garments.
Background
Cassandre Gbegbe is a designer who loves prints and bold colourful fabric. she likes
drawing, meditating and enjoying nature. She began her fashion journey after the
sudden passing of her stylist mom in 2022. What started has a healing process, rapidly
turned into a true passion. She was more than excited to discover that there is a way to
mix her love for drawing, art, couture and crochet though the fashion design industry.
She founded Exodia Creations in partnership with her sister Anicette in April 2023.
Together, they did a lot of shows such as The National Woman Show, Black Business
Expo and received recognition of many oQicials (mayoress of Gatineau, some members
of the Parliament (the Honourables Steven MacKinnon and Greg Fergus); and were
mentionned in Le Droit new entrepreneurs articles that same year.
2. Collection Inspiration
The upcoming collection is named Heritage. For this collection, we wanted to dedicate
and honor the legacy of our mom who gave us the love of fashion and couture. The main
fabric we will use is from the ethnic group Baoulé in Côte d’Ivoire. It is the traditional
pattern of that culture. We will mix it with satin for all the garments we are showcasing.
Collection is a Summer/spring collection.
