Fashion designer Flor Serrano was born in Costa Rica. She learned how to sew and make clothing since she was eight years old by seeing her mother being a bag maker working from home. Flor started to sew in industrial machines making clothing in order to be original at any event or occasion that she attended at school. Her passion for custom made clothing has been growing to this day ever since the first time at eight years old.
Immigrated to Canada at the age of eighteen and rapidly started to continue her studies and also decided to join a fashion design career in Toronto. Her passion for fashion never stopped. After finishing her fashion career, she started her own design company and tried to sell small collections in designer stores located in Toronto. Flor has participated in a lot of fashion events in the city. Ever since nineteen ninety nine, the designers that have been in the industry were always trying to approach people that needed custom pieces.
Her label and logo, a flower shape, is now fashion and costume designer logo working from for dance studios that are always on the need of custom made pieces and also helping new designers make small collections and introducing her brand, the flower shape, to the world as a custom made brand. Serrano visualizes the future where people need to wear only what is needed, make custom and not mass produced, that damages our planet. Her brand is a hundred percent sustainable. In the future, she would like to have a location where her brand can be seen and approached for people that would like to have custom made pieces. Flor visualizes where people need to wear only what is needed, make custom and no mass produce that damage the planet.
